Martial Arts Summer Camp in Union, NJ
Real structure. Real skills. Not just a camp logo on a shirt. Ages 4–12. Limited enrollment — spots fill every year.
Every summer, parents in Union County face the same problem. Work doesn't stop. Camp waitlists fill up in February. And half the options out there are glorified daycare with a logo on the shirt.
Last summer, a dad from Westfield called us in June — panicking, two weeks before camp started, because his son's spot fell through. His kid had never done martial arts. He just needed somewhere structured, safe, and actually good. His son came back the next summer. And the summer after that. That's what we built AllStar Summer Camp to be.
Martial Arts Summer Camp — What We Do
Morning warm-up
Movement drills, stretching, partner games. Gets the energy out in a structured way.
Technique block
Age-appropriate BJJ or Muay Thai basics. Cubs focus on motor skills and simple movements. Lions get real technique — takedowns, escapes, control positions.
Games and challenges
Martial arts games that reinforce what was taught. Kids don't realize they're drilling — they think they're playing.
Life skills segment
Discipline, respect, focus, handling frustration. The same values we teach year-round, delivered in a way that actually lands with kids.
Two Programs, One Camp
Cubs
Everything is built around attention spans that last about four minutes. Short activities, high energy, lots of positive reinforcement. Focus on listening skills, coordination, and following directions — which parents tell us translates directly into the school year.
Lions
Real technique, real structure, real challenges. Kids this age rise to expectations when you set them high. By the end of camp, Lions are doing takedowns, escapes, and basic grappling sequences. They earn a stripe on their camp belt.
What Martial Arts Gives Kids That Standard Camp Doesn't
Failure tolerance
BJJ is hard. You tap. You lose position. You try again. Kids learn — in a safe environment — that failure isn't permanent. That lesson shows up everywhere else in their lives.
Physical confidence
Not gym-class confidence. Real confidence — knowing that you can handle your body, handle contact, handle pressure.
Focus on demand
A parent from Springfield told us her daughter's teachers noticed a difference in the fall. She was more focused, less reactive. That came from drilling techniques that require attention.
Bully-proofing
Not through aggression — through confidence. Kids who know they can handle themselves don't need to prove it. That changes the social dynamic.
